Privacy policy

The protection of your personal data is particularly important to us. Below, we would therefore like to inform you in detail about the nature, purpose and handling of your data. Of course, all legal provisions of the Data Protection Regulation (DSGVO), the Telecommunications Act (TKG) and other data protection regulations are observed.

Collection, Storage and Use of data

In order to use our online offer, it is generally not necessary to provide personal data. Only access data without personal reference is stored here (see „Access data“). This data is only evaluated to improve our online offer and does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your person.

On the other hand, personal data is collected if you take on a sponsorship, wish to make a donation (see „Sponsorship data“) or request other information (see „Newsletter“). We only collect and use personal data for the purpose and to the extent that you voluntarily provide it to us and that it is required to provide you with the relevant information and/or to make your donation.

Newsletter

You can subscribe to the Nurturing Uganda newsletter via our website, which will keep you regularly informed about our work. Alternatively, you can also select the newsletter option when concluding a sponsorship or making a donation. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you can unsubscribe at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of the newsletter or you can contact us by telephone.

Access data and information on data protection

Every time a user accesses a page from the Nurturing Uganda website and every time a file is called up, data about this process is stored in a log file on our web server. Depending on the access log used, the log data record contains information with the following content:

• IP-address of the requesting computer (worldwide unique identifier of a computer),
• name of the requested file,
• date and time of the request,
• access methods/functions desired by the requesting computer (PC, mobile, remote access),
• Access status of the web server (e.g. file transferred, file not found, command not executed) and
• the URL from which the file was requested/the desired function was initiated,
• Operating system and browser type or browser settings.

There is no way for Nurturing Uganda to link the IP address and personal data, i.e. we do not create any user profiles. The stored data is used exclusively for the purposes of identifying and tracking unauthorized access attempts/access to the web server and for statistical evaluations such as visitor numbers and page popularity.

We expressly point out that data transmission on the Internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) has security gaps and cannot be completely protected against access by third parties.

Transfer to Uganda

The use of personal data generally takes place on the territory of the Republic of Austria. In order to make it possible to establish and maintain correspondence with sponsored children, the name must be passed on to Uganda. Postal address and email address will not be passed on.

Secure data transmission

Personal data that you provide to us via our forms, when ordering a newsletter or when contacting us is transmitted to us in encrypted form via a secure connection. The security procedure used (SSL Secure Sockets Layer) corresponds to the usual state of the art. Nurturing Uganda uses the most secure standard encryption in Austria with a 256-bit key, as used by banks, for example.
Access to the system is via an authorization procedure. SSL encryption (recognizable by https:// in the address line of the browser and on the other hand by a lock symbol in the status bar at the bottom of the browser or before or after the address line, depending on the browser used) is a protocol for encrypting data the transmission from the web server to the browser. This transmission offers a particularly high level of security. During transmission, your personal data is encrypted between your computer and our SSL server using the SSL protocol.

Suggestions/complaints/right to information

If you have further questions about our information on data protection and the processing of your personal data, you can of course also contact us. In the event of requests for information, suggestions or complaints, we are available to you as your contact.

You can obtain information about the data we have stored about you at any time or revoke your consent to the collection and storage of your personal data by us.
